Creator & Partner Disclosure Guide

If you benefit from Hero Studios and then talk about our products, say so — clearly, and in the content itself. This page defines what counts, where the disclosure goes, and the exact words to use.

Last updated: 6 Nov 2026 Community rules Report a missing disclosure
Not legal advice. This guide follows mainstream material-connection guidance (the same principles FTC endorsement guidance describes) written for clarity. Rules differ by country — if you publish professionally at scale, get advice for your jurisdiction too.

1. Who this applies to

Anyone presenting Hero Studios products while receiving — or expecting — something of value from Hero Studios or a campaign we run: content creators, community partners, moderators running events, affiliate link owners, competition entrants, and spotlighted community projects with a commercial relationship.

Purely organic users who bought or downloaded things themselves and received nothing are not covered — if in doubt, disclose anyway; over-disclosure is never penalised.

2. What counts as a material benefit

  • Payment — any paid campaign, sponsorship, stipend or retainer.
  • Free or discounted items — products, cosmetics, plans, commissions or gift codes provided at no cost or below standard price.
  • Early access — builds, betas or previews before public release.
  • Prizes & giveaways — anything won in a Hero Studios-run event, including merch.
  • Referral rewards — commission, credit, rank-ups or rewards earned by sending people our way.
  • Other perks — anything else you would not have received as an ordinary member: exclusive roles, direct staff access, travel, hospitality.

3. Where the disclosure goes

  • In the content, near the endorsement. Not only in your bio, channel description or a separate programme page — viewers must see it where they see the claim.
  • Videos: say it out loud and show it on screen early — within the first few seconds, before any call to action.
  • Posts & articles: put it at the top, above links, screenshots or codes.
  • Short-form (Shorts/Reels/TikTok): on-screen text plus a hashtag in the caption — #ad or #HeroStudiosPartner both work when they are true.
  • Streams: a persistent panel/bot line plus a verbal mention at the start.
  • Hashtags alone are not enough if they are buried below the fold or hidden behind "more".

4. Template wording — copy and adapt

Paid partnership: Hero Studios is paying me to make this video. All opinions are my own. Hero Studios provided this mod/plan/cosmetic to me for free. I was not paid, and my opinions are my own. #HeroStudiosPartner I received early access to this build from Hero Studios as part of their creator programme (no payment involved). This link is a referral link — if you sign up through it, Hero Studios may reward me. It costs you nothing extra.

Swap in what actually happened. The disclosure must be true: never claim a partnership that does not exist, and never omit one that does.

5. Relationship labels we use

  • Community project — organic community work, no exchange.
  • Technical partner — collaboration, no money involved.
  • Paid sponsorship — consideration changed hands.
  • Affiliate link — the promoter earns on conversion.
  • Independent community spotlight — we featured them; they owe us nothing.

Only the true category may be used — on your content and on our spotlights of you.

6. The campaign register

Every Hero Studios campaign records: the compensation/perks provided, the content deliverables, the required disclosure language, and evidence (link/screenshot) that the disclosure actually ran. Creators can submit disclosure evidence or ask what a given campaign requires:

7. If you see a missing disclosure

Spot an endorsement of our products with an undisclosed benefit — including one of ours? Tell us via the contact page (topic: Partnership / sponsorship) or email partners@herostudios.dev. We would rather fix it than leave readers misled.
