Why it exists

Purpose

Creeper Eater turned creepers into hunters. Ultra Hard removes every safety net: heightened detection, relentless pursuit, faster devours, and hardcore rules that make every mistake permanent. Built for players who finished Creeper Eater and asked for more.

Who it's for

Challenge-seekers who beat the standard Creeper Eater, hardcore players, and streamers who want content that punishes.

Key capabilities

Relentless hunt AI

Creepers detect you from further away, track better, and pursue without mercy.

Hardcore enforcement

No second chances — mistakes are permanent.

Ruthless tuning

Fast devour timers and aggressive spawning tuned for maximum tension.

Separate builds

Fully independent project with its own version line (uhceu).

No second chances

Mistakes are permanent — Ultra Hard enforces Hard/Hardcore difficulty.

Single ruthless curve

There is no easy mode; fine-tuning lives only in the JSON5 config.

Separate Builds 1 feature

Independent project

Quick start

Get started with Creeper Eater: Ultra Hard in minutes

Follow these steps — most installs take under five minutes.

1

Step 1

Install the Ultra Hard build for your Minecraft version — files named uhceu-2.1-… (1.21.1 → 1.21.11 published, 26.x experimental).

2

Step 2

Do not mix these files with the standard Creeper Eater jar — they are independent projects.

3

Step 3

Start a world knowing that every mistake may be your last — difficulty is forced to Hard/Hardcore on load.

4

Step 4

Learn what changed: 1.3× wall-tracking chase AI through walls up to 15 blocks, fast devour timers, doubled spawns, cross-dimension and daytime spawning.

5

Step 5

Optional: fine-tune in the JSON5 config — but there is no 'easy'; the curve is single and ruthless.

6

Step 6

Survive — if you can.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How is this different from Creeper Eater?
Ultra Hard is a completely separate project: stricter AI, faster devours, hardcore enforcement, and no mercy tuning. Standard Creeper Eater is the more forgiving entry point.
Is there a difficulty option?
Ultra Hard is tuned to a single ruthless curve and forces Hard/Hardcore. Fine-tuning lives in the JSON5 config, but there is no 'easy'.
Can I use both mods together?
No — they are separate projects with separate builds. Pick one per world.
Which versions are supported?
1.21.1 through 1.21.11, plus experimental 26.x builds. Files are named uhceu-2.1-… — keep the build matched to your Minecraft version.
What happens when a devour misses?
The devour fizzles rather than punishing instantly — but the chase continues. A dodged devour is a reprieve, not an escape.
Do creepers spawn during the day or in other dimensions?
Yes — spawns are doubled and happen cross-dimension and during the day. There is no safe time or place.
